Jacob & Erika set up Jacobs Artisan Bakery in 2008 in their Gorgie Road shop & since come a long way to setup a new retail outlet in Haymarket terrace with a 40 seater Bakery , cafΘ and chocolate production unit.
The bakery is one that reflects their genuine love and respect for the art of baking with a total commitment to all produce hand crafted from scratch in their own kitchens.
Contemporary baking brings forth the best in baking from across the globe. The sourdough breads from a Californian starter like the kiln fired ones perfected by Alan Scott, Hungarian Kuglehopf and Linzer cookies are Erika's family recipes alongside the Cinnamon kolacs & cardamom buns , lots of French frangipane perfection from Jacobs previous work at Pastry kitchens across the globe and mousses, a good Black Forest, we love all these and incorporate these in our daily offerings.
We want to rejuvenate the traditonal bakery which lined every high street of Britain, with fresh handcrafted baking without the addition of improvers, shelflife extenders, flavour enhancers and softeners. Baking like it is meant to be ,unadulterated and loved.
